Hand-made Books In 2018, I added bookmaking to my creative process. I have made three bound books: Fences Half-Consumed (2018), Letting the Days Go By (2019), and Lychee Tree Sanctuary (2023). I’ve also made a small pamphlet (edition of 25, now sold out) that is a prototype for a new, longer book-in-progress, Field Notes. Videos of each can be seen here.

Fences Half-Consumed 2018 My first bound book, Fences Half-Consumed is a series of portraits and landscapes inspired Henry David Thoreau’s seminal essay, Walking.

Letting the Days Go By 2019 Made in the book arts studio at Maine Media Workshops + College, Letting the Days Go By is a small book about home as “a place where freedom and security reside together in comfort.”

Lychee Tree Sanctuary Made in the summer of 2023, Lychee Tree Sanctuary is a meditation on grief and its positive transformative nature. Full video coming soon.

Field Notes I created this single-signature paper-covered book in my studio in 2019, as a way of placing the imagery of the Beauty Versus Beauty plant imagery in the context of the landscape where the plants were found. Each of the 25 has a unique cyanotype on the cover and the colophon page.
